The Insurance Institute of Highway Safety has been going pretty hard on the whole front-collision avoidance thing for a few years now. At this point, it’s kind of trivial to pass your crash tests with flying colors. Almost every mass-produced vehicle on the American highway can survive a typical collision with a like-sized car, truck, or SUV. So, safety technology has become more and more important as a means for cars to stand out from the crowd.
