
Two years after the Ford Mustang kick-started the pony-car segment in the US, the first of the Chevrolet Camaro Coupe generations went on sale in 1966, gunning for the same market segment. Six-cylinder and V8 engines were part of the recipe from the start. With a model cycle of 12 model years, the second-gen Chevrolet Camaro Coupe was the longest-lived of the lot, covering 1970-1981 with a few facelifts along the way.
