- A Chevy dealer in Idaho has launched a gun and flag promotion.
- Customers who buy a new vehicle will get a $500 credit to get a gun.
- The firearm side of things is handled by a local sporting goods store.
Automakers have ramped up incentives following the demise of the clean vehicle tax credit, but one dealership in Post Falls, Idaho, has decided to take things further. Rather than another round of low-interest financing or trade-in bonuses, they’re bringing in the big guns.
That’s not hyperbole, as they’re giving away a gun and an American flag with every new vehicle purchased in October.
Despite sounding like a lazy stereotype, customers have embraced the campaign, and numerous buyers have posed with a flag and gun since the offer was launched.
The gun appears to be kept around for these celebratory photos, as it looks like the same shotgun has been used in at least five different pictures.

This would seemingly make sense as Knudtsen Chevrolet isn’t technically giving away guns. Instead, they’re giving customers a voucher to claim a free flag and a $500 store credit at Black Sheep.
The latter is a sporting goods store in nearby Coeur d’Alene, which hides its gun prices behind a login screen.
New Chevy owners will find an assortment of firearms to choose from. While customers shouldn’t expect much for $500, they can accessorize their new Silverado with a $550 Springfield Hellcat. If you’re the bigger-is-better type, celebrate your Tahoe with a $950 Colt Commander.
If you’re more into hunting, you could pick up a $620 Ruger American or a $700 Remington 700. While those are just a few options, customers are advised to check with the dealership for more details.
