A $50 million cold-storage project in West Jacksonville will join Jacksonville’s refrigerated-freezer warehouse boom.
Karis Cold and DSI South broke ground in 2023 on the speculative 265,264-square-foot freezer-cooler warehouse Jacksonville Cold and just recently delivered on the project. It’s on 24 acres at 10105 Pritchard Road in Westlake Industrial Park. The facility has direct access to Norfolk Southern rail, JAXPORT, Jacksonville International Airport, and Interstate 295.Â
Delivered through a design-build approach includes flexible footprints, a fully convertible freezer/cooler system (ranging from -10 degrees Fahrenheit to 55 degrees Fahrenheit), and over 40,000 pallet positions—designed to accommodate a range of food users and third-party logistics providers.
Other cold storage facilities in Northeast Florida include G & C Foods, Anderson-Dubose, Massy Distribution, U.S. Cold Storage, Cool Transport, Aqua Gulf and Eagle AJC. Publix Super Markets received an okay from the city to construct a 375,000-square-foot frozen foods warehouse at 10132 General Ave. on the city’s Westside.
