Rowan Digital Infrastructure (Rowan) received unanimous approval from the Temple City Council on plans for a major new data center. The $700 million project will be located on more than 700 acres along Bob White Road in south Temple. It is scheduled to break ground by the end of 2025 and be completed in the fall of 2026.
Once the project is complete, 30 full-time employees will staff the first phase of Rowan’s data center campus. A planned second phase would add another ten employees by the end of 2029. If the planned three phases are finished, the project costs could exceed $1.2 billion.
Construction of the campus is also projected to create more than 700 high-quality jobs. The company is designing a mechanical cooling system that limits water consumption and reuses water efficiently.Â
The company has also developed a hyperscale project near San Antonio, as well as
projects in Maryland and Oregon.
