Developer Mill Creek Residential is planning to build a six-story building at 1319 N.W. 22nd Avenue in Portland with 125 units and ground-floor parking, according to documents filed with the city’s planning department.
The building, called Modera Slabtown, would also have three outdoor common areas and amenity spaces on the ground floor, reported the Portland Business Journal. The site is currently comprised of three buildings with medical offices and underground parking. Mill Creek has developed multiple apartment buildings across the Portland metro, and Modera Slabtown would be the company’s seventh building in the metro.
The Moderna Slabtown project is in the early planning stages. Mill Creek will be able to submit for permits after answering questions from the city at an upcoming meeting. The proposed project comes as new housing developments in Portland are scarce. Prosper Portland recently approved a loan forgiveness program for potential office-to-residential projects to support more new housing options in the city.
