Owning a movie car is a fun experience for most and onlookers get a kick out of recognizing something from the silver screen. Owners get to enjoy turning heads, and both experiences are compounded when the car in question is from a well-known film or is special in its non-movie form.

Those interested in this lot of three Range Rovers from Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs and Shaw get basically none of that. The upside is that a check engine light will absolutely be the least of their worries after purchase.
What Are You Really Buying?
This very unique trio of SUVs will cross the block at Mecum’s Dallas/Fort Worth auction on October 30, sold together as lots T165.1 through T165.3. They all appeared in the 2019 Fast & Furious spin-off as stunt cars and that fact is pretty obvious by looking at them.
Before we get to that, it’s worth noting that all three still have a 4.4-liter V8 under the hood, automatic gearboxes, and four-wheel drive.
Each was purpose-built for the film and features a matte smoke gray wrap, front and rear crash bars, LED pod lighting, an LED light bar, and even a Wilwood “skid brake” setup. That braking system leverages two brake pedals to allow stunt drivers to lock individual wheels for dramatic slides and turns.
According to Wilwood, the technology actually comes from farm tractors. That’s the kind of thing you’d expect to see on a rock crawler, not a luxury SUV once marketed with words like ‘bespoke.’
What Condition Are They In?
That said, it’s the cars’ condition that makes this auction all the more interesting. To say that they’ve lived a hard life is putting it too mildly.
One has a battered A-pillar and a crushed windshield. The other two have fake machine guns on their roofs, and none of them feature what we’d call a problem-free exterior.
Inside, things only get worse. The cabins are worn out, the upholstery looks dirty, and some major bits are either missing or just lying around. The modification for the second brake pedal isn’t exactly up to Range Rover standards either.

Outside of sitting in a museum for unloved, unknown movie cars, we’re not sure what future these SUVs could have. And here’s the craziest part: a check engine light in these three might actually be a good sign as it’s a sign of life.
Still, if you’ve ever dreamed of owning a luxury SUV that’s been thoroughly beaten for cinematic glory, this might be your moment. Check out the listing over here and see if chaos on four wheels is your kind of collectible.
