When completed, the Dallas Business Journal reports the Village of Gateway in Forney will be one of the largest retail developments in the Southwest US. Street Level Investments is the developer of the Village at Gateway, which is expected to have over 820,000 square feet of retail space.
One of the tenants will be Evo, an entertainment complex with over 75,000 square feet of various attractions, such as bowling, movies, games and food and beverages. The Forney City Council recently okayed a $4 million incentive package to attract the entertainment venue, which is expected to be the largest Evo in the state. Evo currently operates three locations in North Texas: Addison, Southlake and Waxahachie.
The first phase of development, expected to open in summer 2026, will feature 500,000 square feet of retail anchored by tenants including Target, H-E-B and Home Depot. A second phase will deliver an additional 200,000 square feet of retail, including the Evo venue. The development will also include 650 multifamily units.
