When Gordon Murray Special Vehicles (GMSV) pulled the sheets off its first two creations at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering, the collective jaws of the supercar world hit the floor. The sister company to Gordon Murray Automotive (GMA) revealed the S1 LM, an homage to the company namesake’s famed McLaren F1 LM, while the Le Mans GTR looks toward the future with a longtail-style racer that prioritizes track performance. Despite their common T.50 bones, only the latter was designed in-house, while an outsider penned the S1 LM in collaboration with Murray himself every step of the way. But just because one customer did it doesn’t mean everyone who wants one will get their own custom-designed GMSV product; in fact, the company is aware it may have to turn people away at the door.
