Hoffman Construction has been selected to build a $150 million performance center in Hillsboro for the Portland Thorns and Portland’s upcoming WNBA franchise.
Hoffman previously led the renovation of Portland International Airport’s terminal and is involved in the upcoming James Beard Public Market. “We’re honored to help shape the next chapter of women’s professional sports in this city,” said Nima Darabi, Hoffman’s executive vice president.
The dual-use facility broke ground in April and is expected to be completed in 2026. It will serve as the primary training site for both teams, which were acquired by RAJ Sports in early 2024 for a combined $188 million, reported the Portland Business Journal.
“Hoffman Construction has shaped some of the most iconic facilities in the Pacific Northwest,” said Mike Whitehead, managing director of RAJ Sports. “This partnership reflects our shared focus on sustainability, innovation, and community—and our vision to position Portland as the global leader in women’s sports.”
