IKEA has unveiled plans to open several new stores across the United States in 2026. The Swedish home furniture manufacturing giant announced it will open a new store at Gurnee Mills Mall.
The location is one of at least four new IKEA stores set to open across the country in 2026. In Illinois, it will be IKEA’s third retail store, with others in Bolingbrook and Schaumburg. According to the announcement, the Gurnee Mills store will open in 2026.
Located at 6136 W. Grand Avenue in Gurnee, will cover approximately 66,000 square feet, and will feature 3,000 immediate take-home items and approximately 600 small furniture pieces. Other new IKEA stores opening in 2026 include locations in Culver City, Tulsa, and Fort Collins.
The new stores will expand IKEA’s presence in new markets and continue moves to continue rolling out smaller-footprint sites aimed at bringing curated selections and design services closer to shoppers.
