Invest Atlanta will build more than 200 apartments near Centennial Yards, at the former site of the Atlanta Constitution building. Workers are already remediating the existing 95,000-square-foot structure to eventually allow for new affordable housing units and commercial space there. In 2024, Invest Atlanta selected Gorman & Co. as the lead developer. The project is expected to include $107 million in leveraged investments. Gensler is the architect.
Phase 1 will include converting the upper floors into 50 affordable housing units, available at 30%- 80% of the area median income, and feature 5,575 square feet of commercial space.
Phase 2 will add a new 151-unit affordable housing building on the surrounding property. Once complete, the site is expected to include more than 200 affordable housing units.
Amenities will include a clubhouse, fitness center, picnic pavilion and business center. The company expects to complete construction in 2028.
