Back in 2022, American auto giant Stellantis announced it would team up with Amazon to launch a new connected software platform. Now it turns out the deal has been canceled, according to a report from Reuters. As a brief reminder, Stellantis (which includes Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Fiat, Jeep, Maserati, and Ram, plus several European brands) was set to work with Amazon Web Services (AWS) to build the STLA SmartCockpit, a software that would function more like a smartphone. It was set to launch sometime in 2024 or 2025, meaning it’s clearly late, but has now been scrapped entirely.
