
Over-the-air (OTA) updates have made owning a car more convenient – at least in countries that cater to the new technology. They allow automakers to employ software upgrades, performance updates, and sometimes even new features without the owner ever visiting a service center. It does come with perks, but it also carries risks. Jeep Wrangler 4xe owners have recently learned that lesson the hard way after an OTA update reportedly rendered their plug-in hybrids inoperable.
