King Street Properties has secured the first biotech tenant for Allston Labworks, its Allston mixed-use development. The Boston Business Journal reported Thursday that Terrestrial Bio, which recently rebranded from Vaxess Technologies, has signed a lease for 42,000 square feet at 250 Western Ave.
The biotech will be relocating its headquarters from Woburn to Boston’s Allston neighborhood, where it will occupy lab, office and manufacturing space. King Street will complete a custom-built GMP facility for Terrestrial at Allston Labworks. Terrestrial also plans to continue operating its Woburn manufacturing facility, reported the Business Journal.
King Street had already secured five leases at the three-building Allston Labworks for over more than square feet of space in the past year. These include three retail tenants, as well as Alchemy Station, a women-owned art consulting firm and creative studio; and BioBuilder, a nonprofit that offers life sciences educational programming.Â
