Lucid Motors knows timing doesn’t always work out the way you want, especially when buying a new EV. With the federal $7,500 lease credit set to expire at the end of September, many potential buyers were about to miss out. That’s why the automaker has announced the Lucid Gravity Advantage Credit, making sure drivers who lease after September 30 can still enjoy the full benefit through the end of the year. It’s a customer-first move designed to keep the Gravity within reach for more people, and it shows Lucid isn’t about to let shifting policies slow down EV momentum.
Voluntary Extension of the $7,500 Credit
Lucid’s Vice President of Revenue, Erwin Raphael, summed it up simply: customers shouldn’t lose out just because of government deadlines. If you place an order for the Gravity by September 30 and lease anytime between October 1 and December 31, you’ll still receive the $7,500 Lucid Advantage Credit applied directly. Existing qualifying customers are covered, too. For years, the $7,500 EV credit has helped lower the cost of going electric, playing a big role in convincing buyers to make the switch. By stepping in and covering the amount itself, Lucid is recognizing just how important that incentive remains for value-conscious shoppers weighing their options.
More Value Than Just the Credit
Lucid
There’s more than a financial perk that makes the Gravity stand out in the EV SUV space. Despite being a mid-size SUV, it still manages to deliver seven-seat practicality. The Grand Touring trim offers up to 450 miles of EPA-rated range, access to Tesla’s Supercharger network without an adapter, and, in its Dream Edition spec, a 0 to 60 mph time of just 3.1 seconds. Range anxiety continues to be one of the biggest hurdles for EV adoption, but with numbers like that, the Gravity helps erase those doubts. Compared to rivals like the Tesla Model X or Rivian R1S, Lucid makes a strong case: cheaper than the Model X and only slightly behind the Rivian in outright speed. But once you add the Advantage Credit into the mix, it delivers one of the best value-for-money packages in the luxury EV SUV segment.
Putting Customers First

Lucid’s decision to extend the credit reflects a bigger commitment to making electric mobility more accessible. It’s not just about selling SUVs. As Raphael put it, “We’re in the business of accelerating progress, which is why we are proud to offer the Lucid Advantage Credit”. Every automaker wants to keep its products as affordable as possible, but that seems to become more challenging by the day. That said, by covering the gap left by expiring incentives, Lucid is willing to shoulder some of that responsibility for its customers. And if it sparks a trend across the industry, even better.
