When talking about luxury performance sedans, the conversation tends to gravitate towards the venerable BMW M5. However, in the saloon’s previous generation, the G30 and G31 (Touring wagon), the M5 faced some stiff competition from within in the form of the M550i xDrive. Now, we know that many of you will say that there was never a challenge to begin with, but others will beg to differ. But the M550i vs M5 battle is a lot more than just two siblings squabbling it out. It came down to value and which one made the most sense.
