A major automaker has just sold its share of Nissan, but it’s not one you’re thinking of. It’s not alliance partners Renault or Mitsubishi that are reportedly divesting from the Japanese company. It’s Mercedes-Benz that has unloaded its stake not long after Nissan reported a 4.4% sales drop in the first seven months of the year and a net loss of 79 billion yen ($533 million) in the three months ending June 30, 2025.
