Affordable new cars continue to drop like flies. Nissan has just confirmed that the Versa is dead. The current lowest-priced car in the US won’t be getting a 2026 model year, at least not in this country. Production has already ended, and that means you won’t find anything with a sticker price of under $20,000 in the US in 2026. Nissan’s second-cheapest model, the Kicks Play crossover, is also dead, further reducing the number of basement-priced vehicles.
