The group of North American Properties, Nuveen and Jamestown purchased Birkdale Center last year. Now, the group is putting it back on the market. Newmark is listing the retail center for an undisclosed price.
The 670,000-square-foot center, developed in 2001 and renovated in 2020, is home to several nationally known tenants. These include Apple, Lululemon, Pottery Barn, Cheesecake Factory and Williams Sonoma. In addition to 255,000 square feet of retail space, the 50-acre property includes a 320-unit multifamily property and over 50,000 square feet of office space.
The center owners recently successfully acquired entitlements to the project, which would allow for an expansion of the center and presumably increase the value. The rezoning okayed by the Huntersville Board of Commissioners allows development of a hotel, more multifamily units, 26,000 square feet of more retail space and a new office building at the center.
