Kia’s first mainstream pickup truck isn’t doing so well. According to Kia Australia’s CEO, only 3,700 Tasmans were sold since July, and the brand was aiming for 20,000 units. Apparently the higher trims are doing well, but Kia is struggling to get into the high-volume fleet market. But that’s tough to do, because fleet managers would rather spend millions on pickup trucks they know can withstand 10 years of abuse. That’s why fleet sales in Australia and Africa are still dominated by the Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, and Isuzu D-Max.
