- Porsche and SMEG teamed up for a retro kitchen collection inspired by the 917 KH.
- The red fridge and coffee machine honor the brand’s 1970 Le Mans-winning livery.
- Each limited-edition appliance features signature Porsche colors and details.
Imagine the angst a well-to-do Porsche owner might feel if someone were to come over to visit, only to find that the owner’s significant other has taken the car out for errands. There’s a certain pride tied to that badge, and having the car gone can feel like part of one’s identity has left the driveway.
However, there is a way they can appreciate how dedicated the owner is to the brand. And for that, you have to look no further than the new SMEG refrigerator, the latest air-cooled Porsche up for sale.

While few likely predicted this collaboration, it’s not unprecedented. Porsche has teamed up with plenty of non-automotive brands like La Marzocco, Norrøna, and ST. ALi.
In fact, Porsche Design sells its own kitchen cutlery and espresso cups, one of which I use regularly (not that you mind, but I thought I’d share anyway). That said, this new partnership is unique.
It’s the first time that we’ve seen Porsche branch this far into the kitchen, though, but we wouldn’t be surprised if these end up in high-end personal garages more than they do shared domestic spaces.
What’s in the Lineup?
The Porsche x SMEG collection includes the brand’s retro-styled FAB28 fridge, a bean-to-cup coffee machine (sorry espresso lovers, it’s not an espresso maker), a kettle, toaster, and blender, all dressed in Porsche’s colors and detailing.
Porsche Lifestyle Group CEO Stefan Büscher said the collaboration celebrates shared values of precision and passion: “To craft objects that are not only functional but also emotionally resonant.” SMEG Chairman Vittorio Bertazzoni adds that the partnership “pushes the boundaries of what a kitchen appliance can represent.”
The flagship is dubbed the Fridge 917 Salzburg, painted with the same red-and-white livery as the 917 KH that snagged Porsche its first-ever overall win at Le Mans in 1970.
Each unit comes with a plaque marking it as one of 1970 pieces worldwide, complete with matte black handles and the famous “23” racing number across its door. A matching coffee machine gets the same graphics.
Buyers can also have their refrigerators in Carrara White Metallic and Shade Green Metallic. Each benefits from black accents and a Porsche stripe to signify its inspiration.
