Porsche was gearing up to launch an electric three-row SUV positioned above the Cayenne later this decade, but the automaker’s retreat last year from an aggressive EV plan has forced a significant rethink. The vehicle, code-named K1, is viewed as critical for the lucrative US and Chinese markets, where large SUVs sell in strong numbers. Rather than cancel the project outright, Porsche is now exploring ways to bring it to market with internal-combustion power.
