Ram Joins the Resurgence of Street Trucks
The street truck scene has been on pause for years, but automakers are beginning to revisit the concept. Ford reentered the space with the Maverick Lobo in 2024, and the following year expanded the idea to its full-size lineup.
The F-150 Lobo represents a factory-backed effort to build a performance pickup that sits lower, looks sharper, and emphasizes driving enjoyment on pavement. It pairs a 5.0-liter Coyote V8 with subtle suspension revisions and a lowered stance, wrapped in a body kit that carries all the attitude expected of a truck built for the streets.
With Ford giving buyers a turnkey way to get a V8 street truck straight from the dealer, it was only a matter of time before Mopar enthusiasts wanted an answer. That response is arriving in the form of a Ram 1500 street truck, though the source of the project is not Ram itself.
Not A Factory-Backed Effort, Though
While Ram has amplified the teasers on social media, this upcoming model is not a factory-developed product. Instead, it comes from Fox Factory Vehicles, a division of suspension specialist Fox Factory. The company is best known for its performance dampers and off-road upgrades; however, in recent years, it has also expanded into complete truck builds. Its Black Widow Silverado SR package, for example, offered a lowered stance, coilovers, sway bars, and performance tires alongside unique styling details.
The upcoming Ram project follows the same pattern. Teasers show a covered Ram 1500 with gold striping, while a close-up shot up front shows gold-accented tow hooks, a chin spoiler with matching highlights, and Toyo Proxes ST III tires – rubber designed specifically for performance truck use. The details indicate that this is not another lifted off-road special but a pavement-focused package intended to fill a void in the market.

Debut is Happening Tomorrow
The biggest question concerns what sits under the hood. Fox has not confirmed specifics, but hashtags included in its teaser posts suggest a Hemi V8 engine, which was recently reintroduced to the Ram 1500 lineup. That would align with the street performance angle the build is pursuing, though final output and specifications remain unknown.
What is confirmed is the timing. Fox Factory has announced that the street-ready Ram 1500 will make its debut on October 6, 2025. This will be a huge moment for Mopar fans, serving as inspiration on how the brand’s popular full-size pickup can be reshaped into something designed less for trails and towing and more for curb appeal and street performance like the Ford F-150 Lobo.
