Each fall in Fruita, Utah—not Colorado—Roam Fest welcomes femmes, genderqueer riders, parents, weekend warriors and seasoned shredders to bike, learn, bond, and unwind for three days of ride‑centric celebration. The event began back in 2017 and coincided with a movement of more women towards mountain biking. As these newbies were looking for community, Roam Fest was born.
Built by and for women, this “femme & women’s mountain bike festival” offers everything from skills clinics and demo rides to trail adventures and dance parties under the desert sky. It’s a place to invest in your passion and spend time outdoors. Too often women, especially moms feel guilt for play time and I’m here to encourage all of us to invest in fun. It’ll pay off on our mental and physical health.

Why Roam Fest Matters—Especially for Moms
- A space that sees you, not just your roles. Roam Fest’s ethos—“fun as hell” but intentional—offers moms permission to ride, learn, laugh, and connect without apology.
- Community you truly belong to. From sign‑language support for Deaf shredders to BIPOC fellowships, Roam Fest’s commitment to inclusion means every mom can bring her full self—and be welcomed .
- Skill-building + joy, hand in hand. Technical trail clinics are complemented by social rides, film screenings, and silent discos. It’s mountain‑bike immersion, minus the pressure—and filled with play.

Investing in Yourself = Better All Around
Recharge Mode: ON
Moms naturally tend to others, often leaving self-care at the bottom of the to-do list. Roam Fest is a reminder that your well-being fuels your parenting too. These three days can spark fresh energy, creativity, and confidence—both on the bike and at home.
Lifelong Lessons
Whether you’re learning to bomb a new descent or fixing a flat, these mountain bike skills translate to real-life resilience. Owning your competence on the trail ripples across family life, showing kids that challenge, growth, and adventure are worth it.
Role Modeling Resilience
Bringing the whole fam to camp? Or returning home energized after “Mama time”? Either path shows kids that mothers both care and stay curious. At Roam, kids see you as a rider—a model of balance, strength, and joy beyond parenting.
