Five years ago, Ruf showcased its Rodeo concept, a 911 Dakar-inspired off-roader that looked absolutely marvelous. Fast forward three years, and the first customer example has been unveiled at The Quail, a Motorsports Gathering, during Monterey Car Week.
It’s worth noting that the Ruf Rodeo is much more than a Porsche that has been modified for some light off-roading. In fact, it is based on a bespoke carbon fiber monocoque chassis, which the company says makes it the only off-road-ready vehicle of its kind. The debut car wears a Jordan Black finish, complemented by white centerlock forged wheels that give it an unmistakably purposeful stance.

To ensure the Rodeo is up for the rigors of off-roading, Ruf has integrated bash bars into the front and rear bumpers. Fender flares also help to accommodate the 142 mm (5.6-inch) wider rear track and 41 mm (1.6-inch) wider front track compared to the current Ruf SCR.
The car packs a serious punch, too. It is powered by a 3.6-liter turbocharged water-cooled flat-six with a mighty 610 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. A six-speed manual comes standard, sending power through a fully adjustable all-wheel drive system with variable torque split between the front and rear.
Off-Road Engineering
In terms of off-road goodies, buyers get a set of pushrod-activated coilovers with active dampers and double-wishbones. These new dampers also increase the ride height by 9.5 inches (242 mm) and are complemented by carbon ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers and 350 mm discs at all four corners.
Premiering alongside the Rodeo in Monterey was the latest customer-spec CTR3 Evo, painted in Howe White and powered by a 3.8-liter turbocharged six-cylinder with 800 hp and 730 lb-ft of torque.
Joining it was the Ruf Tribute, featuring a 3.6-liter twin-turbo air-cooled six with 550 hp, a nod to the company’s roots in air-cooled engineering.
