Simon Property Group has chosen The Cherry Creek Shopping Center in Denver to undergo a major renovation. The company has allocated $250 million to also renovate the Mall at Green Hills in Nashville and the International Plaza in Tampa.
The 1.2-million-square-foot Denver shopping center will undergo a makeover later this year.
The Denver Business Journal reports the mall, the town’s fifth largest shopping center, will introduce modernized flagship spaces, refined architectural updates and upgraded storefronts. Â
The Cherry Creek Shopping Center currently has more than 160 shops, a movie theater and more than a dozen restaurants. The shopping center recently welcomed tenants such as Mexican restaurant Ash and Agave and furniture store Crate & Barrel.
Simon owns three other shopping centers in Colorado including Thornton’s Denver Premium Outlets, Lakewood’s Denver West Village and Lakewood’s Colorado Mills mall.
The area around the Cherry Creek mall is also undergoing major development, with millions of square feet planned or under construction across various projects.
