The SUV category has expanded a lot in recent years. With the rapid rise of crossovers, and the widespread adoption of the SUV as an everyday family vehicle, off-roading has gone down in the list of priorities for many prospective buyers who are looking to purchase one. This is especially true of SUVs that find themselves on the smaller end of the spectrum, such as crossovers. While many of these vehicles are advertised with a rugged, tough image, their actual off-roading capabilities are frequently poor or non-existent.
