- Stellantis launches new incentive program replacing expired EV tax credit.
- Customers save thousands by purchasing or leasing select EVs and PHEVs.
- Pacifica PHEV gets a $15,750 incentive exceeding Charger Daytona offers.
Ford and General Motors found a clever loophole to extend the clean vehicle tax credit. Now, Stellantis has quietly introduced a new program to help support their popular plug-in hybrids and slow-selling electric vehicles.

Tucked away in the company’s third quarter sales release was a brief mention that Stellantis is ‘replicating’ the tax credit for plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles currently in dealer inventory. This means customers can save thousands of dollars on an assortment of different models including the Dodge Charger Daytona and Jeep Wagoneer S.
Dealer Lot Bargains
Speaking of the latter, Jeep is offering $7,750 in bonus cash on the Wagoneer S Limited and Launch Edition. The offer expires November 3, but we found multiple dealers listing brand-new 2025 models for less than $35,000.
On the plug-in hybrid side of the equation, the Wrangler 4xe has a $5,000 bonus cash allowance. That pales in comparison to the Dodge Hornet R/T, which has a $6,250 incentive. This lowers the base price to $35,395, but a hefty $1,995 destination fee eats into the savings.
The incentives are a little scattershot and Chrysler is promoting up to $15,750 off select 2025 Pacifica plug-in hybrids. In the case of the Grand Cherokee 4xe, it’s $5,250.
Purchase Or Lease Flexibility
While Ford and GM customers need to lease vehicles to qualify, Stellantis shoppers can choose to purchase or lease. That’s a significant benefit, although the money appears to be coming out of the company’s pocketbook instead of from taxpayers.
Regardless, Stellantis noted they have two of the most popular plug-in hybrids in America. The Wrangler 4xe takes the crown, while the Grand Cherokee 4xe comes in third. This incentive should help ensure they remain strong contenders, although the Charger Daytona and Wagoneer S have likely been written off at this point.
