Subaru Exec Says STI Isn’t Dead, But The Signature Boxer Engine Might Be

For decades, Subaru had run a successful strategy of offering high-performance versions of its already potent WRX built by its STI performance division. That came to an abrupt end in 2021 when the final WRX STI bowed out of production, with Subaru at the time saying it wanted to explore new avenues of performance, namely electrification.
