The SubaruOutback has been around long enough to have seen six generations as of this year. However, the 2026 model year will mark the beginning of the seventh-gen, which appears to be the first model to move away from the wagon body style. The first Outbacks were simply wagon versions of the existing Legacy sedan, but eventually, the Outback name grew large enough to break away from the Legacy. Today, Outback generations have built a legacy of their own.
