Everyone remembers the day they got their driver’s license. Many of us first received ours when we were just 16 years old, not even out of high school yet. Getting your license was more than just gaining the ability to go see grandma by yourself on Sundays, it was your ticket to an as-yet-untested pool of freedom. Not to mention, if you were anything like most car-enthusiast teenagers, it meant you can now do donuts in parking lots or test the 0–60 mph time of your mom’s Ford Explorer unencumbered.
