
Not every automotive manufacturer has a test track, but it should come as no surprise that Ferrari does. The Fiorano test track officially opened in 1972 and has since been a longstanding yardstick for the performance of nearly every production car and limited-series vehicle that the Italian automaker has produced in the decades since its opening, as well as one Porsche back in the 80s. They’ve even used their rivals’ cars as benchmarks on occasion.
