A little short of 90 years ago, Carl Mayer did the impossible. He was a man with a dream, a dream to take one of America’s budding confections, the simple hot dog, and turn it into an advertising juggernaut the likes of which the world had never seen. No one had ever attempted to turn a hot dog into a car (as far as we know), and many questions would need to be answered: All beef, or a blend? Seeded or seedless bun? Ketchup or mustard? Gas or diesel?
