An Air Canada aircraft collided with a ground vehicle at LaGuardia Airport in New York City, resulting in major damage to the front of the aircraft.
“New York’s La Guardia Airport (LGA) is currently closed after an arriving Air Canada Express CRJ-900 collided with a ground vehicle,” flight tracking website Flightradar24 said in an X post on Sunday night.
The flight left Montreal around 8 p.m. E.T., and touched down at around 9:30 p.m., per Flightradar24 data.
Photos from the scene on social media showed the plane lying tilted on the ground, with its nose severely damaged.
LaGuardia is one of the three major commercial airports serving New York.
Representatives for Air Canada and LaGuardia Airport did not respond to requests for comment from Business Insider.
