It’s not news at this point that EVs are amazing at acceleration. It’s easy to get huge amounts of torque and power from them, and, as you’ve heard many times before, the torque is instantaneous. As such, 0 to 60 mph times that were once the realm of hypercars, say, under 3 seconds, are common occurrences for even large and heavy EVs. Still, some EVs still grab our attention for their pavement-wrinkling power, and the Lucid Air Sapphire is one of them. Motor Trend just tested one, and it is the magazine’s new 0 to 60 champion, period.
