Everyone knows that racing stripes make your car go faster, right? Heck, they’re actually called go faster stripes, and that would probably count as false advertising if it wasn’t true. Among the various theories as to why painting long, vertical stripes on your car makes it go faster, the leading theory seems to be that the stripes tell the air which way to go. The slimming effect may have something to do with it, as well. If you can’t bring your car’s curb weight down any further, at least making it look skinny will help it go a little faster.
