Wind the clock back 20 years, and everywhere you’d look would be some form of naturally aspirated vehicle. The sports car market in particular was awash with them, from models like the high-revving Honda S2000 to the more budget-minded Toyota MR2. The BMW Z4 paraded about with its NA straight-six, while the Porsche Boxster waded into battle with its distinctive flat-six powerplant.
