The Volkswagen Beetle Just Got The Restomod Treatment, But There’s More Horsepower In A Blender

The original Meyers Manx dune buggy, based on the classic Volkswagen Beetle, is now going fully electric, as is the new Mika Mino EV based in the U.K. But, bucking the trend, another U.K. firm called Twisted Automotive is going back to the VW Beetle’s off-roading roots and making some improvements, without going fully electric like most others. The company that typically works on off-road SUVs like the classic Land Rover Defender or modern Suzuki Jimny has now set its sights on a new form of off-roader with the totally bespoke TBug restomod Baja Beetle.
