Usually, a single generation of a car will go on sale, get facelifted three or four years into its life, then last another few years on the market, with the typical model cycle lasting around seven or eight years. Occasionally, if something’s clearly a sales flop, it’ll get killed sooner, and increasingly, certain models are getting longer lifespans as they remain in high demand and carmakers seek to cut costs.
