
Ever since the automobile became mainstream, it’s been subject to all different sorts of marketing strategies. It’s also been aimed at several different types of people in order to appeal to the widest possible audience. Segments such as the sports car appeal to those who enjoy a bit of spirited driving in their daily lives, from the sub-$30k Mazda MX-5 Miata to the most hardcore Porsche. Other vehicle types, such as the pickup truck, are marketed to those who either work in some sort of trade, or folks who find themselves in need of hauling large/heavy loads regularly, though full-size crew-cab trucks work well as family cars too.
