MV Agusta, along with fellow Italian bike builder Ducati, has a long history of designing some of the most beautiful machines to ever grace two wheels. So, it’s not exactly shocking that its latest model is a stunner. Called the Superveloce 1000 Ago, this limited-edition motorcycle will be restricted to just 83 units globally and carries a wallet-shaking price tag of €83,000, or roughly $95,400 at current exchange rates.
A Tribute to a Racing Legend
This very special version of the Superveloce 1000 pays tribute to Giacomo Agostini, one of the greatest motorcycle racers in history. He has 15 world titles to his name alongside 18 Italian Championship titles, and this year, he is celebrating his 83rd birthday. It’s fitting, then, that MG Agusta is capping production at just 83 units, with each bike featuring a numbered 18k gold plaque.
The gorgeous bodywork of the bike is made from lightweight carbon fiber and is finished in Fire Red Matt and Magnum Silver Matt, taking inspiration from Agostini’s old racing bike. Each bike also rocks a yellow number ‘1’ roundel on the side and a matching yellow CNC-machined headlight surround.
The special touches don’t stop there. The seat is clad in black Alcantara embroidered with Agostini’s name and arrow-shaped racing stripes, a distinctive leather strap runs over the gas tank, and CNC-machined levers, carbon fiber heel guards, and a set of stunning silver wheels complete the gorgeous picture.
Details, Power, and Performance
Adding a bit of storytelling to the package, each Superveloce 1000 Ago includes a special key embedded with a brass coin made from parts of the trophy Agostini won at Imola. Then there’s the powertrain.
Hidden beneath the stunning fairings is a 1,000cc four-cylinder with 208 hp at 13,000 rpm and 86 lb-ft (117 Nm) of torque at 11,000 rpm. The bike also features an eight-level traction control system, four different riding modes, a quickshifter for the six-speed transmission, and a potent braking system. There’s also electronically-adjustable Ohlins suspension at the front and at the rear.
Every MV Agusta Superveloce 1000 Ago also comes with a custom Dainese leather race suit and a special-edition AGV Pista GP RR helmet, included at no extra cost, though let’s be honest, at this price point, you’re definitely paying for it one way or another.
