- Toyota has revealed a fresh teaser of its upcoming performance flagship at the Fuji Speedway.
- The successor of the Lexus LFA will wear GR branding and come in roadgoing and racing forms.
- It is expected to be fitted with a self-charging hybrid setup, including a twin-turbo V8 engine.
Toyota is about to make a bunch of interesting announcements as part of a mysterious project involving the Gazoo Racing, Lexus, Century and Daihatsu sub-brands. Ahead of the press conference which is scheduled for October 13, the company teased the much-anticipated supercar that will be wearing the GR emblem.
The news broke out on X where the official account of Toyota Motor Corporation shared photos of a new sign at the Fuji Speedway track in Japan. This shows the classic Toyota 2000GT from 1967, the Lexus LFA from 2010, and a new supercar with the GR emblem on its nose.

The caption reads: “On the right is the 2000GT, next to it is the LFA, and next to that is…?” The teaser suggests that Toyota decided not to use the rumored Lexus LFR moniker for LFA’s successor, instead offering it as a standalone Gazoo Racing model. Photos of camouflaged prototypes in roadgoing and racing forms indicate that the new performance flagship is an evolution of the 2022 Toyota GR GT3 concept.
Besides the numerous spy appearances during development testing over the past few years, Toyota showcased the prototypes at the 2025 Goodwood Festival of Speed. The LED headlight, black stripe and bumper intake that is visible in the fresh teaser closely match the roadgoing version. The racecar is distinguished by a more aggressive aero package, extra LEDs, and side-mounted exhaust pipes.

The supercar is expected to ride on an aluminum chassis, featuring a carbon fiber bodywork and a self-charging hybrid powertrain. This will reportedly comprise a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine under the long hood that will be assisted by electric motors.
