House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) briefed reporters Wednesday morning as drama surrounding disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein, which has upended floor proceedings in recent weeks, threatens to run into the upcoming government shutdown fight.
Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) on Tuesday said the House would not vote on a resolution pressing the Trump administration to release more files in the case before the August recess.
Democratic Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar (Calif.) and Minority Whip Katherine Clark (Mass.) were also expected to give remarks at the Democratic briefing.
