Attorney General Pam Bondi is set to testify before the Senate Judiciary Committee Tuesday morning on oversight of the department.
Bondi is expected to face tense questioning as the Trump administration continues its crime crackdown and threats to deploy National Guard troops to Democratic-run cities across the nation.
The Trump administration’s targeting of former FBI Director James Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James has also raised concerns over whether President Trump is weaponizing DOJ against his political opponents — a practice Trump accused the Biden administration of doing.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 9 a.m. EDT.
