A Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) advisory panel is meeting for the second day Friday to vote on guidance for the Hepatitis B and COVID-19 vaccines for children.
The 12-member Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), in its first meeting on Thursday since Health and Human Services (HHS) Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. revamped the panel, voted in favor of delaying the administration of the vaccine for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (chickenpox), commonly called the MMRV.Â
The meetings come as the Trump administration faces scrutiny over recent leadership changes at the CDC and its impact on the future of public health, including vaccine policy.
Friday’s event is scheduled to begin at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
