Veterans Affairs (VA) Secretary Doug Collins is testifying Tuesday morning before the Senate Appropriations Committee on the VA’s fiscal 2026 budget request.
The request includes an increase in funding to health care programs for veterans, programs to combat homelessness and funding to modernize the department’s systems. It also comes after Collins announced earlier this year the administration’s plans to lay off thousands of workers amid President Trump’s overhaul of the federal workforce.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10:30 a.m. EDT.
