The House Agriculture Committee on Tuesday morning will look into options for states following cuts to federal funding for the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) included in the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act.”
GOP lawmakers have defended incentives in the legislation, signed into law in July, for states to fight erroneous SNAP payments — but Democrats have argued the bill would cause states to have higher error rates when it comes to food assistance programs.
The hearing is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
