President Trump on Monday is scheduled to meet Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese at the White House.
The two leaders are expected to discuss rare earth minerals and global security. Trump administration officials last week announced plans to take a more active role in ensuring access to “rare earths” — minerals that are key components in several important technologies — in response to new Chinese export restrictions.
Trump will greet Albanese at 11 a.m. EDT and a meeting with the Australian prime minister is set to begin at 11:15 a.m. EDT.
