The month of May kicks off with National Heatstroke Prevention Day. You don’t get to stay home from work on May first, but it’s still a pretty important day of the year. May is when most states first start to feel that summer heat creeping in, and the risk of overexposure to the sun increases. Automakers have been working on their own solutions to child heatstroke – like Genesis‘ advanced rear-seat radar system in the GV70 that can accurately detect rear-seat passengers, alerting the driver and even sending them texts – but nothing can replace public awareness.
